The Conferment Ceremony is a unique and unrivalled celebration and we believe that a multi-day celebration in honour of a completed degree is worth its price. The participation fees cover less than half of the real organising costs. The cost covers two gala dinners with table service, a ball with buffet, an excursion, as well as other expenses and the Matricula (register) of the Conferment. The University supports the ceremony with a considerable portion of its expenses. In addition, we are actively searching for companies and other communities to act as sponsors for the Ceremony.
The promovendi generally attend with a companion. If the promovendus takes part in the Conferment festivities with a companion (avec), the participation fee is 450 euros together. If both are promovendi, they each pay the fee for a single promovendus, 300 euros.
One can also take part in the Conferment Ceremony without a companion (solo). In that case the participation fee is 300 euros.
It is also possible for a promovendus to take part in only the Conferment Act and the Act Rehearsal, in which case the participation fee is 100 euros alone or with a companion.
Furthermore, it is possible to take part while not present (absens), in which case the promovendus will have their name and information entered into the Matricula as well as the right to bear the insignia of their academic status. The participation is 100 euros for those participating while absent.
The lunch on Flower’s Day is not included in the price of the Conferment Ceremony, but is paid separately. There will be additional expenses from purchasing the insignia of academic status and due to dress code requirements.
